Melanie Bala is a veteran broadcaster with two decades in television and radio
Having worked for both the SABC on various entertainment, music and talk shows as on-air talent and in production, She also hosted her own talk show "Let's Chat..." in 2010. "Let's Chat..." went on to win a SAFTA (South African Film and Television Awards) for Best Talk Show in 2011.
She has also contributed short opinion pieces to Marie Claire and the Mail & Guardian online; And in 2013 contributed to Jacana's "From Me To Me: Letters To My 16 and a half year old Self", a collection of letters by South African personalities - edited by Samantha Page.
She is currently the news anchor on METRO FM's breakfast drive show, "The First Avenue".
