Sinazo Yolwa is one of South Africa’s brilliant minds, more than a performer and entertainer. It is safe to call her a jack of all trades. Seemingly, there is nothing she hasn’t done under the sun of the entertainment industry; a clear reflection of beauty and brains. She is an actress, MC, model, business woman, TV and radio presenter. She sure wears her white hat with pride.

✿ She grew up in the Eastern Cape, raised by a single mother. She was an only child for most of her childhood, until two of her aunts passed away.

✿ Sinazo moved to Cape Town to finish high school in 2004. She stayed in Khayelitsha for a few months, but the distance she had to travel daily forced her to look for a place closer to Sea Point. She found a flat in Green Point and stayed there until she matriculated in 2006.

✿ Born on 27 July 1988 (29 years old); Sinazo was accepted into the University of Cape Town (UCT) to study B.com Accounting in 2007, which is now helping her when it comes to dealing with her finances in business and personal life as well. Hard work is one of her strengths that started at a young age. As a result, she was awarded the UCT Association of Black Alumni bursary in 2009. She graduated at the end of 2010. ✿ She began her career the same year she was graduating, appearing for the first time on television for hosting the SABC3 entertainment variety program; The A List. That was her breakthrough gig; with her bubbly personality, she managed to charm South African viewers.

✿ She has featured in television commercials for Vodacom, Sasol, Ackerman’s and Brut, with Candice Boucher and Kerry McGregor. Her acting portfolio includes M-Net’s The Wild (as Victoria), and PEP’s radio drama series, Impilo (as Sindi). In 2011, she hosted an environmental show for Tshwane TV, Water is Life. She also joined the SABC3 magazine show Top Billing as a presenter in November 2011. She has featured in television commercials for Vodacom, Sasol, Ackerman’s and Brut, with Candice Boucher and Kerry McGregor. CAREER She began her career the same year she graduated, appearing for the first time on television for hosting the 2010 SABC3 entertainment variety program, 'The A List'. That was her breakthrough gig; with her bubbly personality, she managed to charm South African viewers. She has featured in television commercials for Vodacom, Sasol, Ackerman’s and Brut (with Candice includes M-Net’s The Wild (as Victoria), PEP’s radio On 'The Wild', Sinazo worked with renowned South African actor, Tumisho Masha, as well as media moguls, Connie and Shona Ferguson. On Impilo, she encountered yet another star- studded cast, with industry heavy weights such as Mandla N and Tumi Masemola, (the creators of popular sitcom, Ses'Top La) playing her parents. In 2011, she presented an environmentan ntal show for Tshwane TV called Water is Life. She also joined the SABC3 magazine show Top Billing as a part time presenter in November 2011.

✿ In 2012 she worked as a scriptwriter, voice over artist and entertainment correspondent for the SABC1 lifestyle magazine programme The Link. She was also a presenter for online video site Zoo.

 

✿ In 2013 she made her debut as the host of the third season of dance reality show So You Think Dance on SABC1. In November 2013 she replaced Pearl Thusi on the SABC1 entertainment show The Real Goboza.

✿ Sinazo’s MC engagements include Unilever, Bloom Marketing (annual MC for their Durban July marquee) and SA’s top record label, Kalawa Jazmee for South African artists performing in the United Kingdom.

✿ Celebrities also go through a lot of challenges when starting a business or deciding to venture into something new and unfamiliar. Sinazo says her mother invested in their business, hence it is the success it is today. Everything that she has been through makes up the strong and powerful woman she is today. And the fact that she takes risks is what makes her the successful brand she is today. Family to her is everything and that is why she still holds strong to her values.

✿ She decided to step out of her comfort zone and do something she has never had knowledge of and run it as a business. Trade has sprung up to feed the growing demand for hair extensions and wigs; Sinazo saw a gap and took a leap of faith. Sinazo is now the face and founder of Haute Lox- a hair business specializing in custom made wigs and weaves for local hair salons. CAREER challenges when starting a business or comfort zone and start a business in unfamiliar for hair extensions and wigs, Sinazo saw an strong will, ambition and determined character.
