DJ  Ready D brings his experience and expertise to his Radio Show on Good Hope FM. This show celebrate and explore the modern day urban sounds and lifestyle on a broad scale.
DJ Ready D's presenting style strongly embrace his Cape Town accent - dialect and swagger enabling him to switch modes through his delivery.

Hip Hop Culture's artistic values and philosophy are the threads that run through the show. DJ Ready D exhibits his skill through his mix sessions by incorporating ever evolving mixing and scratching techniques. The guest DJ's are selected personalities that bring their unique expression into the mix.

Subject matter is always geared towards awareness, addressing community issues and leaving the listener with a sense of hope.

 

• What do you love most about radio?

I love the interaction with our listeners and learning about the meaningful impact that my show have on their lives. The bonus is playing a wide range of music and being able to share my greatest passion - DJING and Mixing with them.

• How long have you been on radio?  

I am now entering my twelfth year on Good Hope FM. I have 3 years experience on Community radio.

• What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?

I enjoy taking time out with family. Drifting, music production and youth development is another part of my life.

• What knowledge do you love imparting onto your listeners?

I love to encourage our listeners to be happy, blissful and at peace.

• What daily motivation do you believe contributes to your success over the airwaves daily?  

I always remind myself that we are interacting with people in real time. Being mindful and taking into consideration that listeners are investing their time with us drives me to deliver the best that I can.

• What has been your favourite moment on Radio?

I enjoyed REV LIFE at Killarney Raceway - We managed to capture the lifestyle around cars, music and trends at this event. We also set attendance records and became the catalyst for so many to follow and aspire to.
Visiting iconic spaces around Cape Town was very exciting because my show visited Wembley Roadhouse. This is an iconic food spot in our city. We also managed to smash attendance records at this live broadcast.
The Cypher Sessions was another highlight. We had Hip Hop artists (established and up and coming) packing out our studio to get their moment to spit some rhymes on the mic. We had the opportunity to have artists from all over South Africa and the world jumping into the Cypher including Grammy Award winner Lacrae. This component of my night show helped to jumpstart many careers in the music scene.
