He is currently the CEO and Co-Founder of online video specialist business and YouTube MCN, Special Effects Media South Africa and has had a 10 year career in the world of video and audio starting from presenting TV shows like Hectic Nine-9, Afternoon Express and Win a Home and you know him as the host of the Hit 30 here on Good Hope FM. He also invests his private time in the NGO sector and working with men and women living on the streets in the Cape.

 

• What do you love most about radio?

Radio is just the most incredible medium. I love how music has the power to transform any mood and how building communities around the love of music can connect even the most separate of people. Radio keeps us informed, entertained and never feeling alone.

• How long have you been on radio?

6 years

• What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?

What spare time?! But I am an avid green finger. I love planting new plants and nurturing the ones I have. I am also a big foodie and family person so walks with the dogs, delicious cooked meals or dinners out and socialising with friends and family is always on the agenda.

• What knowledge do you love imparting onto your listeners?

I suppose it’s more about how we can be connected than it is about imparting knowledge. The Hit 30 Family share a common love for music and its power to transform a day. We share music knowledge, current affairs, good beats and many laughs. I suppose the family need to know it is always going to be ok after 3 hours of the show

• What daily motivation do you believe contributes to your success over the airwaves daily?

Love it and others who love it will find you. Don’t try be something because you think that’s what the system needs and don’t do work you hate – it will eat your soul. I mediate and pray daily to ensure I always remain grateful for every moment.

• What has been your favourite moment on Radio?

Being nominated for the radio awards was such an incredible moment for the team. Competing against so many brilliant national radio stations and we got seen for the work we do. That was a great season and here’s to many more.
