Show(s):

Tamara Snow is not just a radio personality known for her dynamic and vivacious personality and big heart, she is also an entrepreneur and DJ.

Tamara's passion for radio started when she was a teenager, having had her first experience behind the mic presenting a youth show at a Cape Town community radio station. It was here where the radio bug bit. Being very passionate about the value of community it was one of her dreams to give a voice to people who are often overlooked and are unheard, this was the reason for her pursuing her studies in Journalism at the Cape Peninsula University of Technology. Whilst completing her studies she also worked full-time in the newsroom of a commercial radio station.  After graduating with a BTECH in Journalism, this young talent continued to work as a journalist for the next few years, focusing on stories with a social impact.  She later pursued her interest in Public Relations, becoming the PR Manager at a commercial broadcaster.

Her passion for connecting with people over the airwaves had her back behind the mic in no time, engaging with Cape Town audiences on Good Hope FM, where she started off first as a weekend newsreader before becoming a weekday newsreader and traffic presenter on The Works with Stan Mars.

Social issues are close to Tamara's heart and she’s involved in a few community projects which she hopes will allow her to give back to others in a meaningful way. She’s taken part in fundraising initiatives as well as a number of Corporate Social Investment projects.

This rising star is a force in her own right with big dreams and the determination to achieve them.

  • What do you love most about radio?

I love how radio breaks down barriers and supports connection between people.

  • How long have you been on radio?

I’ve been on radio for 13 years.

  • What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?

When I’m not behind  the mic or conceptualising and shooting brand campaigns, you’ll most likely find me exploring and discovering the beautiful gems in and just outside of our beautiful city. I’m a traveller and explorer at heart. Another place you’ll find me is in the kitchen trying out a new Asian-inspired dish, making my favourite creamy pasta or trying a new smoothie recipe.

  • What knowledge do you love imparting onto your listeners?

I think one of the greatest gifts we have in life is the ability to learn from each other. Connecting with hundreds of thousands of people during the show every day provides me with such a great opportunity to learn from different perspectives. My hope is that sharing who I am as authentically as I can encourages others to do the same.

  • What daily motivation do you believe contributes to your success over the airwaves daily?

I honestly believe that each moment, each day is an opportunity to learn, grow and be better than you were. That in itself is motivation for me to do my best.

  • What has been your favourite moment on Radio?

There are so many moments to choose from! I’m so humbled to have been part of the Keep Cape Town Warm campaign with Capfin where we raised over R70 000 in under 3 hours for blankets during one of Cape Town’s cold and wet Winters.
The Love is on the Air campaign that we run as a station during Valentines Month is another highlight for me! Being part of sharing the love and bringing joy to others makes my heart so happy.
I love experimenting with fashion and playing dress up and so it’s no surprise that I also really enjoyed working with The Foschini Group Marketing team to conceptualise the campaign that launched their Winter range.
