Show Details
The first ‘stukkie’ is a filling made up of juicy old school jams (the slap chips) mixed with spicy urban-flavoured gospel jams in the first hour of the show.
The second ‘stukkie’ at 7pm is dripping with a succulent old school mix by the crowd-pleasing DJ Grant Lesch (the hot sauce) affectionately known as Papa G.
The last two ‘stukkies’ from 8pm onwards is for you and your ‘stukkie’ (colloquial for lover if you’re not from Cape Town) featuring those saucy love jams, all held together by a ‘loaf of Brad’. And just like a genuine Gatsby, it’s squishy, oozing nostalgic goodness and meant to be shared among friends.
The prized love jams or ‘blooze numbers’ as we call them are peppered with mushy voice notes from fans of the show, that altogether make up what we call, the Sunset Smoothie. The fact that a community of top fans took the initiative to create their own Facebook group that has continuous family chatter before, during and after the show deserves a special mention.
Unofficially, they’re ones who must ‘sign off’ on leave before can even think of taking a night off
