But his father used to call him Oktober/October his birth month

On air he is DJ Jakes.

Early Life

Mr. Jetembo was born in the rural township of Bagani village in Namibia Western Caprivi. He is the third child in the family. Odom started his schooling background in Bagani primary school at his place of birth.  Later was relocated to South Africa in the Northern Cape in Schmidtsdrift military base in the out skirt of the vaal river about 70 km away from Kimberley the capital city of the province and Odom completed his grade 12 (Std. 10) in Schmidtsdrift San Combined School in South Africa.

Education

After completing his Grade 12, Jetembo has attended the following courses ---Free to grow course about leadership, moving forward he obtained Fire Fighters Course, Computer Basic course, English Literacy and Small Business/Entrepreneurship course.

Employment background

As a full growing man October (as he was effectunetly knowing to his father) has kick started his work experience at a ceramic’s factory---where they manufactured  plates and flowers pots with clays. From there he moved to a broadcasting environment in SABC where he currently works as radio presenter. He signed his professional contract with the SABC on 1 April 2000 and was one of the first fortunate four to present in indigenous !Xun & Khwe language in public service 16 years
.

Jakes is doing what he does best live radio interview at a OB in Groblaarshoop intermediary School. Where SABC foundation in Partnership with Department of Education donated school goodies (School Shoes, Sanitary towels, stationeries etc.…).

Personality/Radio wise

DJ Jakes like to work with people, like team building, like adventures and he love his current occupation which is SABC Radio announcer at Radio X-K fm.

Future desire

Looking forward to study communications, facilitation, Presenting in public, supervising, events coordinating and project management.    

Other interest –

Mr. Jetembo serves in the leaders of Communal Property Association (CPA) of the !Xun & Khwe Community of Platfontein as the Vice Chairperson and also he is the Chairperson of Community Development Committee (CDC) of the Khwe communities  .

On air---- DJ Jakes presents the evening show from 18H00 to 21H00 seven days a week from Monday to Sunday.

Programme Genre--- talk shows, live shows, pre-recorded interviews, live interviews, live telephonic interviews and not forgetting he does airs vox pops of his programmes as well as show identifications. 

Languages

DJ Jakes is a khwe presenter and presents his shows with khwe dam but that does not mean he don’t know other languages. He speaks and understands his neighbouring !xun tali which is his co presenters language and when doing interviews with people from outside he runs smoothly his programmes in  Afrikaans and English.
