Thobela FM listeners and all that waited with anticipation and excitement were treated with a huge surprise on-air on Tuesday the 16th October 2018 on “Mosegare wa Segalela” between 12:00-14:00.
The station revealed that this year’s Gospel Festival will take place at the Polokwane Cricket Club on Saturday the 17th November 2018.
Ms. Mosh Matsena Thobela FM’s station manager mentioned that each SABC radio station has a flagship event which they predominantly take under their wings based on their listener’s interests and for Thobela FM it is the Gospel Festival. This year’s festival will be themed around “Hope” to support the station to meet its mandate of national building by addressing issues around unemployment, crime, poverty, and supporting local content.
Ticket prices will range from R250 general, R985 VIP, and R1 500 VVIP. There will also be early bird price where listeners can get two tickets for a special price of R385 for a limited period of two weeks only. The festival is considered a family event and the station is catering for kids up to twelve years of age at R100 per ticket. Monica Seletela, the project leader for the event touched on safety and health issues. She re-assured listeners that this year’s festival will be bigger, better and safer than the previous years!
Mr. Makwele Lekalakala, acting programmes manager mentioned that the station will go on roadshows prior to the festival to further promote and encourage listeners to purchase tickets at various selected malls around Polokwane and listeners should keep their ears open for dates and times:

- Mahwelereng shopping complex
- Limpopo Mall
- Seshego circle shopping complex

- Ngwana Ledwaba
- Blondie Sexwale
- Psalmist Sefako
- Winnie Mashaba
The station has created a huge suspense as they mentioned that listeners should keep tuned in to the station as many more artists will be revealed including the surprise act. The station plans to reveal the full line up on Thursday-17 October 2018.
Tickets will be available on compu-ticket from Wednesday evening the 17th October 2018.
