SABC 3 brings you the American sitcom One Day at a Time which follows three generations of the same Cuban-American family living in the same house: a newly divorced former military mother, her teenage daughter and tween son, and her old-school mother. One Day at a Time debuts at 20H30 on Friday, 1^st January 2021.

This contemporary remake of the original, One Day at a Time revolves around a Latina family living in the Los Angeles neighbourhood of Echo Park whose matriarch, Penelope, is a recently separated former military mom navigating a new single life. Assisting her in raising her radical teenage daughter, Elena and socially adept tween son, Alex are Lydia, her old-school Cuban-born mom and her aging hipster building manager Schneider. Penelope strives to maintain at least some balance between her semi-traditional Cuban culture and the modern American influence her family encounters while living in a suburb of Los Angeles.

One Day at a Time features an ensemble cast starring Justina Machado (Penelope Alvarez), Todd Grinnell (Pat Schneider), Isabella Gomez (Elena Alvarez), Marcel Ruiz (Alex Alvarez), Stephen Tobolowsky (Dr. Leslie Berkowitz), and Rita Moreno (Lydia Riera)

The series was developed by Gloria Calderón Kellett and Mike Royce, with Norman Lear and his producing partner Brent Miller as executive producers.

One Day at a Time was included on multiple Best/Top TV Shows of 2017 and 2018 lists such as Imagen Awards, TVLine Awards, Television Academy Honors and the Primetime Emmy Awards to name but a few.
