Chef Kirsten (Kirsten Mohamed) and her side-kick Sous Chef Mthunzi (Mthunzi Ntoyi) host the show and together, this comedic duo demonstrate to a dynamic group of ‘cooktestants’ how to create simple and appetizing meals.

As each cooktestant is sent on an excursion to find supplies, they explore South Africa’s fresh, locally farmed, wholesome produce, giving fascinating insights to the food we often only see in supermarkets or on our dining room tables. Once the ingredients are collected, the team is transported to the magical Cookabout Kitchen where anything can happen, from doors and drawers sliding open and appliances responding to secret voice commands. The hilarious Mickey Mouse cartoon shorts will be added into the fresh and side-splittingly funny mix.

Each week, the cooktestants will battle it out to take home the Silver Spoon as they carry out challenges at the various locations and attempt to create the tastiest dish in the kitchen – all in a race to be awarded the Cookabout Golden Trophy.
