SABC 2 is a Family Channel and true to its proposition, the Channel is ready to invade Bloemfontein with its own flagship event called – SABC 2 FAMFEST from Thursday, 12 – Saturday 14 December 2019.  The Channel will be taking various programmes like Muvhango, 7de Laan, Fokus, Spyskaart, Hectic Nine-9, Lithapo,  to name a few in what promises to be a weekend to remember. There will also be live performances from Samthing Soweto, Dewald Wasserfall and Appel. On the ones ‘and two’s Lesedi FM DJ's, the evergreen DJ Ganyani and the creative Prince Kaybee will be rocking the crowds with some house and hip hop sets. Free State Botanical Garden is the place to be, tickets go for R50 at the Computicket.

The festivities will start with a visit to various radio stations in Bloemfontein on Thursday, 12 December 2019.  The visits will form part of taking the listeners on what to expect that weekend in the province. The main event takes place on Saturday, 14 December 2019 at Free State Botanical Garden where there will be a plethora of activities including kiddies area for face painting, TV License activations with a music extravaganza to keep the families entertained throughout the day. Gates will open at 10h00 and the picnic will finish at 18h00.   

“SABC2 in 2017 registered its own signature brand event called the SABC2 Family Picnic. The channel plans to visit towns and create viewer touch points, with some of the properties that live on the channel. The purpose of this activation is to give small towns the opportunity to experience the brand as opposed to the big cities only.  This concept was brought to life in 2017 with the first activation taking place in Mafikeng, North West. This allows us to take our programmes and talent to the audiences in a relaxed atmosphere where the viewers can interact with our actors. We would like to call out Bloemfontein to come out in numbers and experience a unique second to none family day.  A fun filled day is definitely loading.
