In this new season we see a brand new face replacing Eric Myeni in the form of the multi-talented, the man who doesn’t necessarily need an introduction in the entertainment industry - Nimrod Nkosi.
BREAKING NEW GROUND is a documentary series that showcases how the lives of ordinary South Africans are transformed through provision of adequate housing and access to freshwater and decent sanitation.
BREAKING NEW GROUND is a policy of the Department of Human Settlements. Together with the Department of Water and Sanitation, the Department of Human Settlements is accelerating the delivery of quality housing and clean water to the people. The policy focuses from providing low cost housing to a comprehensive strategy that looks at low cost, middle income, rental stock, provision of serviced sites and the improvement of informal settlements to make them more habitable.
Based on the policy of the BNG, the department has launched a television series to showcase the various projects that the department has embarked upon as part of the implementation of this policy.
"Having been in the industry for this long sometimes you need projects that will stretch you as an artist. BREAKING NEW GROUND has been one of those projects. Many a people will know me as a presenter of mostly music shows and also an actor, with BNG this has given me an opportunity to dig deep and bring my A game. Also it is encouraging to see the government trying its bit to improve the lives of ordinary South Africans in providing adequate housing and access to freshwater. I am grateful to be part of this great initiative by the Department of Human Settlements and Department Water and Sanitation and being the vehicle in reaching out to our communities” commented Nkosi.

Nimrod Nkosi is a South African television presenter and actor best known for presenting the Lotto draw on e.tv and SABC2 and for hosting the youth variety show Jam Alley.
