Starting 3rd week of July 2019 the channel will introduce to its viewers exciting brand new titles as well as new seasons of popular existing shows.
Head-lining the hot list of new programmes are x2 drama series – MAKOTI and THE AGENT – representing a fresh and unique way of telling authentic Mzansi stories.
Making its welcome debut on Wednesday 17 July 2019, at 19h30, MAKOTI is a vibrant, hilarious, and simply lit relationship drama series that interrogates modern-day relationships as well as explore some key elements that make or break relationships. Mzansi Fo Sho’s newest drama series boasts a dynamic cast which stars amongst others: former Generations actress, Thulisile Phongolo as Lilitha; current Selimathunzi presenter, Siphesihle Vazi stars as Mthoko; veteran actress, Thina Jaxa plays the character Noma and, sees the return of Mike Mvelasi (former Generations actor) to the Mzansi Fo Sho screen playing the role of Lawrence.
Starting on the same day in an earlier 18h00 timeslot is a brand new docu-reality series – EMASISWENI – which captures and narrates the proud and colourful life journey of Zinhle Ngidi, a 'virgin' from Soweto in her late 20's on a cultural excursion of self-discovery; it is a journey fraught with doubt, forced introspection, and the challenges and frustrations of trying to introduce modernized ways of doing things into an old cultural practice of virginity testing that is still very much traditional and conservative. The series also looks at the lengths at which this proud and traditional Zulu girl is willing to go to make what is still seen as an old practice, modern and relevant to her peers.
INSTAPRENUERS starting on Thursday 18 July 2019 in the 18h00 timeslot is an exciting docu-reality show that brings South Africa most followed social media influencers and personalities to the television screen. From Thick Leeyonce, Chef Nti, Mihlali N and Dj Doowap, the show follows instaprenuers and twelebs on a day on the grind and curate the content that has generated the influencer status for them. We find out how they came to be, what inspires them and what keeps their social media pages fresh.
THE AGENT, which explores the kind of wheeling and dealing that goes on in the modern game, how sociopathic rival agents, megalomaniac club owners, scheming professional football players and their gold-digging football wags, compromised club managers, and duplicitous witch-doctors, shamelessly hustle and negotiate inside the corridors of world football power, will start screening on Sunday 11 August 2019, in the 21h30 timeslot.
Viewers are in for the biggest television treat with their favourite key channel shows coming back in their new seasons: NOW OR NEVER S7 (15/07); BREAK DA BEAT S2 (04/08); and should look forward to a brand new second season of IT TAKES A VILLAGE (04/09) with a nice surprising twist.
