This creativity is what inspired the 2014 Gospel Gold Choir Competition, where the winning choir will get a chance to perform on the Gospel Gold stage.
Starting in the month of July, the popular music show, Gospel Gold, will be searching for the country’s hottest Gospel choir. The competition will run up until the 21st of September, says Gospel Gold co-presenter Sthembile Mhlongo “I simply cannot wait to see talent out there. Gospel Gold is calling on all community, church and independent choirs to showcase their talent and warrant an opportunity to perform on the Gospel Gold stage”.
Choirs who want to enter must upload their video online and get people to vote for them, the choir with the most votes, wins! “Gospel Gold being the oldest gospel music show in the country, has a loyal audience who loves gospel choirs. Winning this competition, chosen by viewers is sure a launch pad for any group” adds co-presenter, Sisanda Henna.

- What is the Gospel Gold Choir competition?
The Gospel Gold 2014 choir competition is Gospel Gold’s way of giving back to the community. We want to give you, our audience, a chance to help us discover the gold that’s in your community gospel choirs. That’s right, your community Choirs now have a chance of appearing on Gospel Gold! Just enter our competition and get your Family, Friends, Church and community members to like your video...The video with the most likes wins!

- How do I enter the competition?
Steps:
1. Create a Vimeo account by clicking here: https://vimeo.com/join
2. Choose the “Basic Option” which is free.
3. Upload the video of your choir.
4. Name your video accordingly.
5. Go to the video settings, under privacy tick the box “Add to their collections”
6. Play your video on Vimeo.
7. Click the share button.
8. Email to competitions@gospelgold.co.za
9. Search Gospel Gold, it will pop up on the people tab.
10. Click follow to keep track of the videos.
- When is the entry deadline for the competition?
The competition runs until the 21st of September 2014
The winning choir will perform on the Gospel Gold stage.
Unfortunately, the competition is only open to choirs.
- Can I enter the competition if I live outside of Gauteng?
Yes, the competition is open to every South African choir, however, The winners are responsible for getting to and from the Gospel Gold studio on the day of the recording.
- Can I enter the competition even if I live outside of South Africa?
The competition is unfortunately only open to South Africans.
- What Gospel genres should enter?
All Gospel Genres are accepted.
