About Presenter:

Tlou Cleopas Monyepao (DJ Cleo) is a multi-award winning musician, producer and DJ, born and raised in East rand township of Vosloorus. His music began at tender age of 10 through playing in the church’s band. He later pursued production at age 14 after a nasty soccer injury to his hand hampered his soccer ambitions and halted his goalkeeping exploits at the Kaizer Chiefs development. Though he started DJing at age 17, his professional DJ career started at the age of 19 in 1999 while studying sound engineering in Johannesburg and the following year he doubled as birth a mix dj and a technical producer for Ashifa Shabba and Dj Fresh at Y-fm. It this then that Dj Fresh gave him his first break in the music industry through his compilation album titled Gatecrasher meets Afrika (a double Cd compilation by dj Fresh and Glen Lewis), which featured an original song produced by him called Will of steel. His production signature sound has been heard in clubs across the globe for over two decades through his unique and uncanny ability to fuse different styles of music together and his versatility behind the DJ box.

Experience and Progression:

• He produced many award-winning artists and worked with the likes of Mzekezeke, brown dash, Mandoza, Brickz, Skwatta kamp, Pitch black Afro, Kabelo, Lection, phantom Steeze, Slikour, Selwyn, RJ Benjamin, Mmatema to name a few. His knack for discovering talent has seen him work with many unknown names before they blew up (Lebo Sekgobela, Musa Sukwene and many others)
• Not only is he an accomplished and well-travelled producer and DJ, but he's also an incredible musician who can play a variety of instruments. This gives him a unique perspective when it comes to crafting his tracks and allows him to create music that is both complex and accessible at the same time.
• His versatility includes being a curator, songwriter, arranger, sound engineer, bassist, drummer, guitarist, producer, soccer Goalkeeper coach and aspiring aircraft pilot.
• Eskhaleni, a name made famous by his albums over the years and synonymous with him has now become the Mother body to his events, podcast (Eskhaleni Podkhast), motorcycle club and new label.
