Entries closes on 30th January 2024

Schools around the country opened on 17 January 2024 for the first term of the 2024 school year and will close 46 school days later on 20 March 2024.

Radio 2000  “Back to School” on-air call to action from our listeners, of which there are hopefully teachers, pupils, SGB and principals of schools motivating why their respective school should be considered for a special broadcast with Radio 2000 personalities gracing their school grounds.  This campaign is open for all public (Primary/ High) schools in Gauteng.  Radio 2000 will only broadcast from the school, no aid or gifts will be provided by the station

The campaign will run throughout the month of January 2024, from the 10th until 30th.  The last day of January (31st) will be reserved for adjudicating the email entries and deciding on which school Radio 2000 will  be broadcasting from.  The announcement will be carried out live on air on the 1st February 2024  

The special broadcast will be held on the 5th February 2024, with the Breakfast Show, #TheMorningBuzz with Glen Lewis, Nathi Ndamase and Lelo Mzaca broadcasting live, from said school between 6am and 9am.  

 

Competition Terms and Conditions:

  1. This competition is open to everyone except directors, members, partners, employees, agents, and consultants of the SABC and/ or the competition promoters, and/ or their spouses, life partners, parents, children, brothers, sisters, business partners or associates.
  2. No person may enter the same or any other competition hosted partly or in whole by Radio 2000 within 90 days of winning a competition hosted or in whole by Radio 2000
  3. The campaign will kick start on the 10th January 2024 until 30th January 2024
  4. Entries received after this date/time will not be considered.
  5. Any person who wishes to enter the competition may send an email to competitions@radio2000.co.za motivating why their school should be considered for a special broadcast with Radio 2000 personalities gracing your school grounds.
  6. This competition is open to public schools situated in Gauteng Province, primary or high schools, entrants can be teachers, pupils, SGB, parents and principals of schools.
  7. Participants will only be contacted by Radio 2000 / SABC personnel.
  8. The SABC/ Radio 2000 accept no responsibility for any problems or technical malfunction of any communication network or any late or incorrectly submitted, delayed, illegible or corrupt entries. The SABC will not be liable for any costs incurred, responses received or any other consequences of user error.
  9. The selected school must provide any additional information required by the station for broadcast plans.
  10. The judges’ decision is final, and no correspondence will be entered into. The SABC will not be held responsible for any disputes arising from the competition.
  11. The winner must adhere to the rules specified for this campaign.
  12. Winners may be required to participate on Radio, or on any other medium as shall be determined by the specific campaign.
  13. The name of the school will be announced on 1st February 2024 and on the medium as will be determined by the specific campaign.
  14. The selected school must be able to avail members of staff or scholars should an on air interview be required
  15. The SABC reserves the right to cancel, modify or amend the competition at any time, if deemed necessary in its opinion, and if circumstances arise outside of its control.
  16. Entrants should be South African citizens with valid identification and complete all the relevant documentation when required.  
  17. Winners accept the prize at own risk. The SABC shall not be liable for any loss (including, without limitation, indirect or consequential loss), damage, personal injury or death which is suffered or sustained (including but not limited to that arising from any person's negligence) in connection with this competition or accepting or using the prize/s.  Radio 2000 will only broadcast from the school, no aid or gifts will be provided by the station
  18. Entrants will be deemed to have accepted these rules and agree to be bound by them when entering the competition.

Rules:

  1. A person (teachers, pupils, SGB, parents and principals etc) representing public primary or high school may enter.
  2. All parties entering the competition understand and accept that they may be required to be on-air, in addition their images or video clips may be uploaded onto Radio 2000’s digital media platforms and or website.
  3. Only entries submitted to the stipulated competition email address will qualify for consideration.
  4. Entries that contravene the terms and conditions or the rules of the competition will be disqualified.
  5. Radio 2000 reserves to right to amend or cancel the competition at any point in time without compensation or prior notice.
  6. In the event that you are drawn as a winner and do not answer the call from the on-air team during the competition giveaway, the station reserves the right to move onto to another competition entrant.
  7. The entrant enters the competition knowing that it is their responsibility to secure access for broadcasting at the specific school.
