The Prince Bio

Distinguished by 14 year tenure in the broadcasting circles, Charles Mnisi - also known as “The Prince” - is a South African radio presenter, club DJ , content producer and music producer par excellence. Mnisi, who is unanimously regarded as one of the best DJ’s is an epitome of excellence behind the mic, while both his exploits as a DJ and his work as a producer are beyond reproach.

Radio experience

Radio Turf
His broadcasting career began in 2003 when he joined a campus radio station, Radio Turf, at the then University of the North (now University of Limpopo). His meteoric rise at the student radio station saw him moving from being a producer, presenter, and music compiler to ultimately ending up being in management at the station. This underscored the relentless willingness of the young man to always go an extra mile, as well as entrenching his astuteness and diligence.

Capricorn FM
In August 2007, Mnisi moved on to the proverbial bigger and better things when he was roped in by Limpopo’s Hottest Frequency, Capricorn FM, as part of the inaugural team. He joined Capricorn FM as a presenter and producer for what was to be an increasingly popular weekend show called THE VIBE. In addition to these sterling achievements, The Prince produced the magazine show, THE SILKY TOUCH, which is aired from Monday to Friday (9am - 12pm) and presented of The Soul Connection aired Monday till Thursday. (8pm till midnight.) As a presenter and producer, Mnisi played a tremendous role in Capricorn FM’s enormous 1.5million listenership in the station’s first two years of operation.

SABC/ Ligwalagwala FM

In 2012,Mnisi joined the SABC (LigwalagwalaFM, in Mpumalanga) as a producer of the midday show (12pm till 3) which won an award as the best midday show at the Mpumalanga Sunshine Awards in 2015 and presenter of the top 20 chart show Saturday 7 till 9am, (which is the third biggest show at the station) and Sunday 21H00 till midnight.

Up to now, it has been 14 years and counting in the broadcast and/or entertainment industry for Mnisi, whose moniker “The Prince” gives a glimpse of his reign as a presenter extraordinaire, excellent producer and exhilarating DJ.

Musical career

The Prince has released 6 Songs thus far. ‘Dance floor’ ft Flexboogie, ‘Ndiyahamba’ ft Lungelo as well as his latest single 'Smile' ft Shota, a single which is currently taking airwaves by storm and did very well in 2015. The single video launched on Liveamp last year (2015) and got playlisted on these stations... Metro FM, YFM, Lesedi FM, Capricorn FM, Ukhozi FM, Gagasi FM, Thobela FM, Munghana FM, Ligwalagwala fm, iKwekwezi FM, Phalaphala FM, Umhlobo wenene as well as various community radio stations in the country. The Prince ft. Shota 'Smile'' was on high rotation on all these stations, moved up to number 6 on the YFM TOP40, The song sat on the number 7 spot on the Entertainment Monitoring Africa local chart, was on the top 10 hottest local songs chart on MTVbase and also on high rotation on MTVbase. ''Smile'' also and sat on number 5 spot on Club808 on Etv. All of this happened in the year 2015.
