Celebrating World Immunisation Week

Date: Apr 25, 2025

World Immunisation Week, celebrated in the last week of April, aims to highlight the collective action needed and to promote the use of vaccines to protect people of all ages against disease.

Through its convening power, World Health Organisation works with countries across the globe to raise awareness of the value of vaccines and immunisation and ensures that governments obtain the necessary guidance and technical support to implement high quality immunization programmes.

In 2025 the theme is 'Immunisation for All is Humanly Possible', World Immunisation Week 2025 aims to ensure even more children, adolescents, adults and their communities are protected against vaccine-preventable diseases.

Over the last 50 years, essential vaccines have saved at least millions lives.

Meanwhile, it is also World Malaria Day today which recognizes global efforts to control malaria.
