This has been reported by the United Nations Office for the Co-ordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) has reported.
The country has endured years of instability, and while some conditions have improved, OCHA warns that a significant portion of the population still faces severe risks. In its latest assessment, the organisation revealed that 38% of CAR’s population is so vulnerable that humanitarian aid alone is insufficient to ensure their well-being in 2025.
Tobias Schuldt, Deputy Head of Office for OCHA in CAR, underscored the continued challenges in addressing these humanitarian needs.
“The situation remains dire for many. While humanitarian aid plays a critical role, structural changes and long-term stability are essential to truly safeguard the well-being of affected communities,” he stated.
CAR has struggled with cycles of conflict that have displaced thousands and disrupted essential services such as healthcare and education. Recent efforts by humanitarian organisations have provided some relief, but deep-rooted vulnerabilities persist.
