Nomawele Njongo, Chief Executive Officer of KwaziThina Publishers and founder of the initiative, says real-life stories have a powerful impact on readers.
She adds that her son’s books were the inspiration behind launching the project.
"I saw an opportunity to redefine Africa by promoting African stories. In 2021, they wrote about COVID-19, in 2022 it was the impact of social media on teenagers, and in 2023 the theme was ‘The Africa We Want’. Now it's ‘One Africa, Many Voices’," said Njongo.
She added, “Our editor is based in Ghana, Professor Frim Daniel, and our adjudication team is spread across Africa, with one member in the United States.”
The deadline for story submissions via the KwaziThina Publishers website is the end of this month. The top 25 entries will be selected, and the anthology is expected to be published in September. This will be the fifth edition of the series.
