OUTA’s Fred Daniel has accused Mabuza and other individuals, including officials from the Mpumalanga provincial government, of orchestrating fraudulent land schemes in the province. Daniel further alleges that his nature reserve, which he claims was targeted after exposing the scam, suffered vandalism, arson, and death threats.
According to OUTA’s Chief Executive Officer, Wayne Duvenage, the consequences of these alleged actions were far-reaching.
"Daniels needs to be compensated for the damage done to what was going to be a world-class reserve, had it been allowed to develop and create thousands of jobs and income for this country," said Duvenage. "Which was scuppered by the conduct of Mabuza and his cohorts in that province. So we must never allow the legacies that people have created to be forgotten as well."
