Warning issued for windy weather conditions in SA’s Western Cape province

Date: Jul 11, 2025

The South African (SA) Weather Services (SAWS) has issued a level two warning for damaging waves along parts of the Western Cape and Namaqua coastlines for this weekend

A cold front is also expected to bring large south-westerly waves of up to five-point-five metres, with strong winds of up to 60 kilometres-per-hour between Hondeklip Bay and Plettenberg Bay.

Authorities say the weather could pose risks to beachgoers, small vessels, and port operations. Residents and visitors are advised to exercise caution, avoid risky coastal areas, and to stay up to date with official weather alerts.
