Speaking during a round-table discussion held in Johannesburg, Chikunga said the dialogue aimed to strengthen collaboration between government and corporate stakeholders to advance the inclusion of women, youth, and persons with disabilities in economic activities.
She also underscored the importance of engaging in G20-related discussions during and beyond SA’s G20 presidency, to ensure sustainable and inclusive growth.
Reflecting on the event’s outcomes, Chikunga says, “What I liked about the presentations was the issue of emphasizing collaboration among themselves. To say there are resources, but maybe we may not, even as finance institutions, be effectively impactful in what we are doing because we work in silos. And if we were to share these resources and work together, we may even be more impactful.”
The round-table highlighted the need for stronger partnerships and resource-sharing in the sector to maximise the collective impact of development initiatives.
