Date: Apr 30, 2025

South Africa’s (SA)President Cyril Ramaphosa has appointed Dr Alistair Ruiters, a respected business leader and former Director-General of the Department of Trade and Industry, as his Special Advisor for Investment Promotion.

The move is part of ongoing efforts to boost investment in SA as the government rolls out a series of reforms aimed at improving the country’s economic outlook.

Ruiters will work closely with the president to strengthen SA’s investment drive, a key element of the government’s broader push for inclusive economic growth and job creation. With his wealth of experience in trade and industry, Ruiters is expected to provide valuable guidance as the country strives to become a more attractive destination for global investors.

The appointment is seen as a strategic step to ensure that SA remains competitive in the global market, helping to drive the nation’s economic recovery and long-term growth.
