The aim of this meeting is to bring together industry role players from across the world to collaborate on advancing sustainable energy transitions, fostering essential co-operation and knowledge sharing.
Key focus areas of recent G20 presidencies include Just Energy Transitions by Indonesia in 2022, and Green Innovation and South-South Co-operation by India in 2023.
During its presidency, SA’s priorities will include energy security, affordable and reliable access, and just, affordable, and inclusive energy transitions.
Ramokgopa will be the keynote speaker at the events, with the themes "Role of Nuclear in Clean Energy" and "Energy Efficiency and Affordability".
The working group addresses the challenges and opportunities member states experience when shifting to sustainable energy systems.
During another G20 Energy Transitions Working Group meeting earlier this year, Ramokgopa said SA continues its engagements with the United States to iron out differences in efforts to work towards a common purpose on energy security.
He said the country plans to use the G20 to position itself as a key knowledge hub in areas of clean energy, just transition, and sustainable development in Africa.
