Quick intro

Lula started with 5FM in July 2024.

She has an undergraduate degree from Wits in Anthropology and Media Studies.

In the 8 years before joining 5FM, she made some massive waves in campus and commercial radio, winning several awards.

If you had to sum up yourself in 10 seconds, what would you say?
I describe myself as a LONG ISLAND ️… tall, dark and intoxicating.

Where were you born and raised?

I was born in Jhb, Soweto … raised in the east of Jhb in Boksburg.

In which towns have you lived and where are you living currently?

I’ve lived in Soweto, Naturena, Parkrand, Bryanston and currently residing in Auckland Park.

Which languages can you speak?

I speak English, SeSotho and IsiZulu.

Favourite towns or cities visited in SA and abroad:

I recently visited Berlin and I LOVED it!! I’ve been to Phuket, Thailand , to Maputo, Mozambique and various cities in Italy 

What are your hobbies?

I love DJing, MCing and gaming (FIFA AND 2kNBA)

What is the craziest thing you’ve done?

Craziest thing I’ve done is dance with Robin Thicke.

Which pets do you have, if any?

I have a small kitten. His name is Paballo.

Google will say I search for the meaning of words the most.

Michael Jackson, Ellen DeGeneres, Thando Thabethe , Trevor Noah and Sway in the Morning.

Game of thrones and The Office.

Teleporting coz I hate being late.

Football and basketball 

Special Olympics, differently abled beings that excel in sports, LGBTQI+ rights, GBV.

What are the top things on your bucket list?

Travel to at least 30 countries, review super cars for fun , hang out with Michael Jordan, host the Grammy awards , meet Elon Musk and convince him to give me half his net worth.

What’s your favourite thing about your 5FM gig?

The hours , having a brand new audience, the music! The fact that I’ll have a voice to speak to the entire country, the soft life oviaaaassss!
